“Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world.”
– Roald Dahl.
In the Middle School Team, we want the children and young people in our care to enjoy learning through play while beginning to develop life skills and independence.
A great focus is put on functional literacy and numeracy skills, which is experienced and explored in a range of ways and through differentiated activities.
Within Middle School there are 8 classes with pupils ranging in age from 7 to 14 years old. The team is led by team leader, Mrs Terri McCallan, who is also a Middle School teacher.

Middle School is the “bridge” between the Early Years and Transition. The foundation led in the Early Years is built upon. Children and young people have the opportunity to continue to progress and develop. Early literacy and numeracy skills are nurtured and teaching and learning is individual and appropriate to the needs of the pupils.
Having fun, play and adventure are a big part of Middle School. We enjoy activities such as Be Unique Dance classes, Jo Jingles, Zoom assemblies with other middle school classes, cookery, art and circle time.
We believe each pupil has potential and it is our job to support, nurture, teach and guide.
